does any one know if there is a core plug behind the fly wheel on an escort rs turbo or in that area

 

Yep there is a large core plug behind the flywheel.

 

cheers mate went to get one from fords today and they told me that there werent one listed does any one know what size it is then i can tell them what kind i want

 

Hello mate , there is 4 Core plugs on the 1.6 cvh bottom end , there is three at the rear of the block and a somewhat larger one behind the flywheel. There is a notable difference in size and any good ford dealer should be able to provide you with one.

Just found one in me workshop , ford part number E457012 - S

 

Strangely the core plugs were only available in oversize when I last time enquired about them at Ford's. Burton at least has them in std. size their catalog.
