Talking Got to try my Quiafe ATB tonight!

Had a chance to open it up round some tight bends on the way back from Ipswich tonight... In 2nd gear once the wheels broke traction and you would normally expect to understeer accross the road I was happy to find the LSD pulling the car nicely into the corner!!
Great upgrade well pleased

It's far better than a normal LSD IMO, the wheels do not spin as easily no...... But obviously depending what gear and how much torque you run your always going to be able to break traction if you try! lol

understeer you mean, run wide etc
oversteer is a rwd attribute and will only be seen with lift off oversteer in fwd
sounds good though, i've only been in one rst with Quiafe Diff before and i thought it was pretty dam impressive

Glad you like it mate, had one for a few years now and really can't rate it highly enough as a good 'allround' diff that has never caused me ANY grief!

Yeah i landed a good deal really, got mine in a rebuilt box that suposedly had done only 1000miles for £400!
Although I can't be 100% on that because I did ask the guy if it was a later BC box with the bigger bearings and he said yes... turned out it was a MK3 box which obviously has the smaller bearings, and the clutch release arm had been welded on which wasnt mentioned either!
But, the Quaife was there and the box itself is lovely and tight so I cant complain really, gears are a bit long like a Diesel box as it has a Fiesta final drive IIRC!

The clutch release arm is welded on all mk3 gearboxes. It's the fork that is removable, whereas in a mk4 the fork is welded and the arm removable.

You can see by looking in the driveshaft holes, looks totally different to a stock diff!
Those 4 cut outs are the biggest give away

I haven't used my ATB yet on the road. Really want to compaire what the ATB drives like in comparrison to the brand new Ford LSD my old box had. Just watch you dont hit a bump and lift a wheel mid corner as they need both wheels in contact with the road to work.
