Default Fuel Filter and Pipes

Hi guys just changed my fuel filter but it seems to be leaking from exit connection, i used some new copper washers not specific to the RS but they seemed to fit fine?

Do i need specific washers if so where can i get these from and the pipe that goes from the unit to the filter?

Thanks in advance

No, it will be that the banjo is corroded and no longer perfectly flat, I had the same thing using specific RS filter washers, had to replace the pipe and banjo.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Do you happen to know where i can get one of these pipes possibly from ford and would the bolts need changing?

200292669397 Saw this on the bay seems a little steep though.

Surely i could try filing the banjo untill flat for a better seal?

Cossie and RST filters are lame for this.. I replace the filter with a Mk5 escort one or a Ka puma etc etc.. Then cut the pipes just after the bangos and fit high pressure fittings instead.

Filters cost £6 compared to the £13 for the RS ones.

Much better design and takes seconds to change next time.

The high pressure fittings can be bought from any hyrolics company such like www.abbeyhose.com

Hope that helps!!

There is a process called annealing which works very well with copper, I replaced the fuel filter and had the same leaking problem, heat the washers up then try again,

Have a read of THIS.
