This is bad i know but for last couple years my escort turbo has only had pure water in it, not antifreeze coolant at all, so u can imagine when i took pipes etc off again the other day i presented with alot of brown gunge left once water had all come out, Now obviously i can wash out all my pipes and header tank and swirl pot but can i somehow flush out the head and water pump? water pumps not had much use as car has only been run on driveway, not had car on the road at all.

So, yeah, can i flush out the head etc in anyway and just leave it all drained for now whilst engine bay is in bits whilst im doing cossie management then once all back together fill up with water and coolant let it run for a while then drain it all again and refill?

ANy help/advice greatly appreciated as im not clued up on the actual working of engines etc.

forte coolant system degreaser its the best stuff on the market will clean all the rust out of your block then flush through like the guy above says and it will be clean as a whistle

Thanks for above help there chaps. Will doing that clean out the water pump aswell? im guessing so. Will give me something to do if we get a dry evening this week coming up.
