Default erst engine rebuild

hiya peeps, been told my erst engine is fooked, been advised against a ebay replcement 2nd hand one, and to go for a re-build, what sort of figure should you expect to pay from a garage (who incidently specialises in performance fords.) cheers.Daz

give jacko a pm mate off here he has done a fair few and always turned out to be cracking engines he is based teeside too so not too far for ya either

You would probably be better off taking your current engine to some one.... expect roughly £200 in parts (standard) so long as you don't need new pistons..... which unfortunately by the sound of it you will (no compression) but this may not be due to bore damage (could be head). And probably another 2-500 for machining and labour I have always built my own engines so im not sure how much companies charge. If you need new pistons these will be roughly 3-350 for standard mahle items.

most places charge 45 an hour plus vat an upwards dont sure how long goes into a rebuild

just rebuilt mine and it cost, £700+ for parts and im sure it was £300+ for machine shop work and my labour was free, i did have to go far forged pistons as mine had been rebuilt once before and i needed +1 pistons.
