Side repeaters
Hi
My '86 registered S1 has side repeaters, but i've seen some pics of S1's with these that are fitted higher up the wing closer to the swadge line. On mine the repeaters are in the same place as that of other mk3's that had side repeaters fitted. I replaced the rs stickers and when doing so there was not alot of room for them because of the indicators.
Was there a different wing for the S1, placing the repeaters higher than all other mk3's ? Or did the stickers just sit really close to the lenses ?
Not sure whats right as most S1's don't have them !?!?
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Glen

Glen,
Whats on your car is right mate. I have two S1's, a 1985 model which has no side repeaters and a 1986 model which obviously does. The one's you see with the side repeater higher is because the owner has made a hole and moved it higher. I know it looks a bit out of place with the RS so close to the side repeater, but that is how Ford designed it

Wings for S1's were exactly the same as those fitted to the XR3's/base model mk3's, be it with or without indicator.
Any car made before 1986 that didn't come with side repeaters don't have to have them, but any car made after 1986 has to have them for MoT. Your being an 86 means you have to keep them.
What MJC said about positioning is correct. I know several peeps who have bought repeater-less wings and put a hole in higher up so the badge is more visible, but the true ford way is the way you have them now.

Yeah ya wing is right mate, just gotta get the stickers in the right place, it's harder one side than the other. Can't remember which way round is harder but offer them up before ya stick em. Good luck Mate.
