Torque plate for CVH
Are torque plates used for boring and honing CVH engines?
I am being told here that cylinder ring seal will be better when the
engine block is bored and honed using a torque plate ( and head gasket)
to simulate the head being bolted to the block.
I have not read anything or seen anyone using a torque plate for engine
boring and honing on this site.
Are torque plates not required?
Cheers,
Perry

it depends on how precise you need it to be and as you've been told it will give you a better finish if torqued when bored but most over here don't bother as far as i know

Yes mate there are companies like Noble racing that adhere to ' plated boring'.
had mine torque plated and then honed/bored. dont really know if it makes much difference as its one of those things you cant measure against.
