Default got loads of questions.

Ok top people..... ..i got a few questions cus i really cant decide whos telling the truth.......and what maybe to do/save up for!

What kinda price will a 1.8zvh conversion cost..fitted and done...and do you have to have all the pistons and stuff made low comp....

When will you have to start playing with the bottom end of the cvh to make it stronger to withstand the upped power.....say between 180bhp-220bhp? do you have to fit new pistons and big end bearings?or other things in the bottom end?

Which is the best zetec bottom end for a zvh conversion? 1.8?2.0?2.1?

And any other info on anything like this would be great...

standard lump will go to about 190 ish i know of one which made 196 on rollers but did have a better than standard cooler

as for 18zvh if thats the way you want to go then dont feck about with 1.8 go 2.1 can be done cheap using calibra turbo pistons as for price one built will cost you about 1200 notes, use better pistons rods ect you can spend 3k+ but then i'd go 1.6 cvh for that money steel bottom end good head 280 gee gee's

but the zvh is a cheap way to go

Got 1740 CVH in mine - makes 187bhp / 192lb/ft @ 13psi and is not set up right yet

Get some accralite pistons if you go CVH though at £100 more a set than mahle (which are standard ford RST ones anyway) are worth the £.

Looks like i be saving for a while then!

What sort of power can i make on the cvh engine then while still having reliabilty!

chip,xzorst,-31,induction kit, high lift cam, pace intercooler(not full size just double standerd size)

Just wondering as i have 90% of these items under my pc desk!

ive got a 1.6 cvh, low comp pistons, piper cam, turbo technics turbo, turbosystems chip and 17psi boost, and im hoping to get around 200bhp.

but for the cost of putting low comp pistons in the 1.6 cvh you can build a zvh. i know a couple pf people running 230bhp+ off a 1.8zvh. im personally going to go for a 2.1 zvh for my next engine.

Ive heard the 2.0 zetec bottem ends aint really that good for the zvh conversions. dunno why.

Its fairly cheap to do a 1.8 zvh as you can use the standard pistons and just have the tops shaved off to lower the compresion.

dunno mate, but i have everything that you have except for the intercooler and have approx 175 bhp so a bit more than that id guess!
and before anyone slates pts i was just posting their prices as a guide for james. rumour has it the cvh can be tuned upto 200bhp and cause you no problems but if you start going over 200bhp things will start to go wrong and break. the tuner i spoke to said the only way to get major bhp is zvh.!

Hoping to get well towards 230bhp without cossie management in the near future on my 1740 cvh. As above it puts out almost 190brake (not bullshit figure) at only 13psi (and isn't set up right at the mo). So should have no probs with well over 200
