Little update.....
...... I finally have a good block and it is being honed and decked as we speak, my crank has been polished and a full set of ACL shells ordered, my head is back from NMS all fixed up, EFI flywheel is skimmed ready for my new AP Racing Clutch, Steel Rods ordered from Jano @ oddkiddcreations, engine bay has been cleaned, and all wiring tidied up!
So not long now and i'll be boosting again!!

Nice one karlos.so what have nms done to your head then?and what rods did you go for from jano?also did i see you mention about mahle pistons the other day?just curious because i want to keep standard cr and cc on my engine.any ideas what power theyre good for?regardsjamie

I am looing forward to it yeah!!!
Should be back on the road at the VERY latest end of the month, local engineering company are honing it for me.
The rods from Jano are just the steel rods he sells on his site mate, i'm using standard Mahles to keep standard CR and they are good for a proven 300bhp.

Nice to hear mate. Have you got a figure in mind? Whats the spec? I know your running MS, good head etc but not sure what else.
Good lad going to Jano aswell rather than eBay. All helps the scene

Figure in mind is 220-240bhp depending on the Dyno of course! lol
My full spec is:
NMS Custom head (SS Valves, Bronze Guides, Gas flowed etc..)
Newmans Cam/Solids
Steel Rods
Standard Mahles and CR
ACL bearings
ARP Bolts
Stage 2 TT T3 (.36/55)
VXR 480cc Injectors
MS2 Extra EFI Management
Apexi AVC-R Boost controller
Techedge WBo2 Lambda
Radtec FMIC, Twin Spals
BC Gearbox with Quiafe ATB LSD
AP Racing CP2000-35 Clutch
Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Focus ST 300mm Front Brakes, Cossie Rears
Spax Adjustable suspension
Boost, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp Gauges
Maybe some more but cant think right now! lol

jano does really good deals on rods and pistons at mo, wish i had the money for the upgrade as thats what i want next!
you should get more bhp than that i reckon, im on stage 2 head, 285 cam, stage 3 t4 and cossie managment and im hoping for 240 and youve got a better spec than me!

Correct!
lol Forgot to mention in my spec list......
BIG EMPTY WALLET!!!
Ooops
Your Stage 3 will flow an easy 270bhp but my Stage 2 will only manage about 240bhp and thats if I ring it's neck! lol
.36 exhaust housing is very restrictive, but spools up fast, and i'm not chasing power figures

PassionFord Post Whore!!
they have the same exhaust wheel but the t34 has a bigger compressor wheel.
i ran a stg3 t3 on my cvh and a t34 on my zetec but never got the chance to try both on the same engine so cant help.

Hasn't a stage 3 T3 got a 360 roller bearing but a T34 hasn't? I'm not too clued up when it comes to turbos. I'm just sticking with a standard T34 I think.

good news pal, great to hear it's going in the right direction.
i'd be fitting a 4wd cossie turbo on a 0.48 housing with a cossie type down pipe, it'll flow much better and give you a bit more peak power, with a cossie exhaust housing it'll spool better than with an erst one too

The boost is killed off by my cam mind,So mine come's on at about 4k

Gas flowed for more response and flow, Bronze Guides, Custom Stainless Valves, Seats Cut, Valves hand Lapped in, Re-Faced.
Have a look here for detailed pics......

Interesting..... but TBH I dont want mroe than 220-240bhp because i'll just eat gearbox's, and the extra lag is fine if your just chasing power figures but i want a nice quick daily driver, this is why i choose the Stage 2 T3.

All my valves have been replaced with custom items inlet and exhaust, they are standard size though, until you reach the 250bhp mark big valves are not needed and will infact make the car more laggy due to a drop in gas velocity (assuming you have the ports matched to the valve size)

Your car was setup well which makes a big difference, the right amount of Cam advance will make a massive difference to spool up time, and then your Stage 3 T3 still has the legs for top end power too........ your turbo and head complement each other
Slapping a big valve head on a engine running a stock T3 or even a Stage 1/2 is a waste and IMO counter productive (even if only marginaly), low comp gives off boost lag, but once you've made any sort of positive pressure it's gone.
Comparing one car to another is almost pointless as there are so many little things that make a difference to how it drives/responds, but the bottom line is that the lower the comp, the bigger the turbo, the bigger the valves/ports, and the longer the duration of your cam, the laggier off boost the car will be.
This is not a fact that can be argued becasue all those mods are aimed at making top end power, and as a result you loose off boost response.
I would guess that my car will make full boost at around the 3000rpm mark, maybe even a little later for various reasons...

so its basically a rebuilt standard head with stronger valves? im just curious because i want to find somewhere good to have my head done.i dont want to pay 600 pounds for something that wont improve flow/or make it worse. I dont really agree with not needing a big valve head till 250bhp,All engines make power in proportion to the amount of air they can breathe, and the boost is a by product of the gas being discharged.maybe it wouldnt be advisable to have a head with larger exhaust valves etc as theyre already to big??
