your dumpvalve may be leaking a bit and letting a bit of pressure off the system, that's all i can think of.

Yeah, which if all your breathers are clear means your piston rings are fried!

Nearly 11:1 Compression ratio on a turbo lump is a wee bit high.
Either way, sounds like the engine is fubared.

Of course you can. As a rough guide 1 atmostphere is equal to 15psi.
So 160psi/15psi= 10.6 Atmostpheres
So its 10 times atmostpheric pressure. 10.6:1

i thought about 160 psi was good compression for a rs turbo engine ? any way can i just replace the rings on the piston thats only showing 75 or shall i change them all ? will my block need rebore or can i simply just change the rings ? cheers

Depends on how badly worn your bores are, my friend rerung his and fitted new shells and it became a good engine producing 150 bhp with only an exhaust and filter

160psi is about right for a good condition standard engine, which is 8.3:1 CR.

A big
+1 lol
Fresh engine should be around 170psi so 160psi is fine, just a shame about the other one
