i just brought a S2 NMS unlimited boost ecu off a friend and put it in my S1 but the car wont make boost till 4600 is there any thing i can do to make it boost from 3200 like it used to?

It shouldnt make any difference mate, unless the timing map has been drastically altered.
Ah..... if the S2 ECU has knock sensor support then you'l need to plug one in or the timing will be completely wrong. S1 does not have a knock sensor.

is there no way around the knock sensor or will i have to try wire one in? do u think i could take the chip out of the S2 ecu and put it in the S1 ecu? or would that never work?

Nope you cant swap the chip over it wont work. Problem is your loom doesnt have the wiring for a knock sensor so you cant just plug one in, might be easier to get a S1 ECU or an early S2 ECU (no knock sensor) thats chipped.

ECU Colour Codes:

Blue-Red-Blue S1
Blue-Red-White Early S2 (No knock sensor)
Blue-Red-Black Late S2 (Knock sensor)
Hearts & Diamonds 90Spec (knock Sensor)
