are they new ones or pattern ones?
i had a complete mare fitting my new pattern shaft the other day as it was too tight in the splines.
i managed to wack it with a rubber mallet for a good half hour then i could just manage to get a nut on it.
i wound it up but it didnt look like it was through far enough.
so i then gave it some megga leverage and it went on some more but i think pattern ones are not perfectly machined so they could vary a bit.
as long as the nut is right over the thread and the center non threaded bit is sticking through i dont think you can go wrong coz its not gonna come undone

they have a "built in" washer, if you get me? does this make a difference? both nuts are the same, from ford, just one wont go on as much as the other..was wondering if the drive shaft have a different amount of threads than the other
