few questions?? its my first rst s2
hey lads bought my first rst s2 7 months ago loving it,big difference to my 2 previous fords, which were 2 mk2 rs2000 escorts one nosecone and one flatfront. have a few questions for all ye ford whores
1) the rst i bought was originally from the uk and uk reg is etched on the glass and is bkp47g23 has any 1 owned this s2 its a mercury grey see i have no history with the car and want to know about engine work as i believe it has had a rebuld at some stage the block has been repainted blue and rocket cover is painted light green
2) i am currently giving the rs a resto as back arches have a little wood worm and a small hole on drivers sill and i am respraying the whole car but the bumpers have that horrible crome strip in them and i want to replace it with the black strip can any one tell me where i can buy that black trim?
3)which is the best uprated intercooler to buy and which one will fit nicely without cutting the bumper and is affordable
4)how do i know if my ecu is chipped
5)b&m short shifter good or bad as i am used of a close ratio box in my old rs2000s i find the box isnt close enough for my liking

1. Chk that number plate - thats really long!
2. The trim comes up all the time on the bay of E.I tried to remove mine from one bumper and fit to another but if its been in there for a while, it aint budging.
3.GRS is what people talk about but unless you got a 90 spec bumper then u will have to cut it. I think your get away with a double capacity one but alot of people say they are no better than a standard.Ive got one and does the job.
4.If u have a boost gauge see if it is boosting above 10.5psi, if it is and not cutting out then its chipped.See if there is a sticker on the front of the ecu (ecu behind heater box in engine bay - silver one lhs)
5.B&m are quoted as tghe best you can get.I havent got one so cant say.Expensive tho.
