Fair enough mate. It all depends on the rest of the spec of the engine but you should have a lot more power IMO. How come you are going to change the turbo? Is it really laggy? If I were you mate I would get in touch with a tuner who can set up your car and ask them the best course of action. Problem is not many companies set gotech up I don't think.

mate by the sounds of it you should take it to a tuner, just randomly turning up the boost isnt a good thing get to a tuner.(jamsport with your management)and ask them advice.get it set up/checked over.see what they think.

didnt think they would have set it up on the t34 running that power must be on boost so so late.get on the phone to them mate, might have records of the car under its reg and they could tell you what they hink or thought of it when they did it.or just go see them.good blokes up there

Yes they will turn the boost up during the setup but they will charge an extra 30mins labour even though it didn't take any longer than the 2 hours they said it would take to setup

If your bottom end (Crank, Rods, Pistons) are standard then ditch the lag monster (T34) and get your stage 2 T3 and aim for the 210 - 220 bhp mark at Jamsport.

If your bottom end can take more (steel rods, forged pistons etc..) and your head has been worked (ported, polished, big valves etc..)then with the T34 you could see around the 250bhp mark!

4000rpm is late and almost useless considering the rev limiter is 6400rpm

But it's about right for a T34 on a 1600cc engine, a T3 will be spooling just after 2000rpm and on full boost by around 3000rpm!

i think the best thing to do is find out exactly what engine mods you have, carnt belive you dont have a cam with that spec, still at least you have an uprated management thats a few quid saved,if your gonna strengthen the engine and get a big valve head, then turn the boost up,or spend your wedge on getting the power down on the road, atb diff, uprated steering arms, polybush it,at the end ot the day it depends on how much folding stuff you have........

Yes for sure!

Set it as low as you can for the drive to JS!

Switch probably opens the Amal valve which bleeds air away from the actuator back into the airbox and increases boost, when closed boost will drop to whatever the actuator springs pre-load is set at.

Jamsport will decide whats best based on your engine spec and how it perfoms on the day mate.

Basically..... yes!

Best way mate, it will cost you BIG money if you get things wrong

I've spent the last 2 years and a lot of money learning everything I can.......... it's a steep curve

Yes mate it should do 200bhp with ease! So long as it's a healthy engine

If it was me i'd pay for a rr session and see what you have got before you go changing stuff about, its clearley not set up properly. The car may of been set up fine five months ago and may well of had bits changed before the sale of the car to you.

Coswurv is right it does need a setup, but the T34 is still way too big and laggy for any 1600 cc CVH as we have already discussed.
