Default basic setup for rs escort

iv got a escort rs and need to get it set up, im a tec myself so befor i take it i realy would like to set it up as best as poss, quick engine spec

1.6cvh
bid valve head
cossie pistion with lower comp
piper 285t cam
sainlees exhaust
pace inter cooler
got the uprated leads ect
full lightened and balanced
stage two turbo,

tho looking for a good t3

running about 18psi

on standard ktec fuel system
tho im haveing probs when you give it a handfull when it hits about 10 psi it missfire as if the spark is being blown out, ivgot new ngk set to 1mm gap, is this corect also, if some one can give ignition timeing and any other usfull info,


i built the engine so i know its strong? and like new so it not on its last legs?

Mate you biggest problem is that your fuelling is going to really really lean if you have never had it setup before!!!!
Your 20 year old KJet fuelling system will not self adjust the fuelling for anywhere near 18psi if at all!!

Set the timing to 12DBTDC and your boost as low as you can and drive it to a tuners ASAP or you WILL have a meltdown and all your hard work will be wasted!

couldnt agree more mate, boost down and drive below 3 k all the way to the tuners, nice spec though mate, didnt know they did cossie pistons for 1.6 engines.

i don't know but 1 mm gap isn't right i thought... use the search function on here

but what said before you will need a good set up, boost down to the tuner!

as im in west sussex can anyone advise on best tuner, that realy knows wot they are doing?

Silly question, but is your ECU standard??? That would cut the boost at 10 psi..ish!

Or try changing the throttle switch - this is a common problem too.
