ive been offered an st170 engine cheapish so what would i require to turbocharge this engine and is it a popular engine to turbocharge.
or would i be better off just buying a focus rs engine

i would suggest instead of a decomp plate you buy some c20let pistons and get the rods machined to accept the wrist pins. Or get some eagle h beam rods as they are very well priced in the states... 200 odd quid for the set. That way you can have a brilliantly strong engine and know that the bottom end is gonna take the boost you are going to throw at it!

i see lol, well i should have researched it before, now i know though... so if the big end is the same he would be better fitting steel rods? If he machines the rods to fit the c20 pistons will they loose alot of strength?
