Default Clutch Problem

Ok, just got my new car and when cold the clutch slips badly but when warm up it gets a bit better. Also there is a burning smell which i believe is coming from the clutch.
Im guessing there is oil getting onto the clutch so if I buy and get someone to install a new clutch will this solve the problem OR if oil is getting onto it will the new clutch just get oil on it too?

I suppose what Im gettin at is if oil is gettin on it do i need to get a new clutch Or stop the oil gettin to it and it will be ok?

When you get a new clutch, do you have to replace the seals and stuff with it or do you have to buy them seperate.

Just dont wanna waste money on a new clutch if its just going to go wrong again.

Soz car is Esc S2 RST on 87. Also what size clutch do i get?

It's a no brainer really. If the clutch is contaminated with oil, its fooked. So, you'll need a new one regardless. Don't try and second-guess an oil-leak, just get a new clutch and get the old one off, then you will see what the problem is. If you're not doing the work, just make sure you tell the person that is that you're worried theres an oil leak and they will then check it out. If someone fits a new clutch and see's oil on the old one but doesn't investiage it, then they aren't doing their job properly.

BTW, the S2 RST has a 220mm clutch. Sub 180bhp and a standard one will be OK. Over that and you need a decent aftermarket one, like AP or Helix.

no seals wont come with clutch mate. if oil is getting to it its possible it will be the core bung just above the fly wheel, thaen you are in shit,

its not going to be a cheap fix, if it is just the clutch thats had it then your talking 500 at least fitted depending on what clutch you have.

i was going to say it may be the sump gasket and it'll cause the oil to flick around the bell housing and land on clutch.
seen this happen many times.
