Default PACE intercooler

I purchased one of these, a double capacity jobbie, had a quick look at fitting it today on my series 2 90 spec, Am I right in thinking that there isnt actually and brackets to fasten it to the car or anything?? and that you have to move the radiator fan across to the left, which then isnt bolted to the radiator??

Any fitting advice greaty appreciated

I fitted one of these the other day to my daily driver.

You should have a bracket to locate the top of the radiator. I made a little bracket out of alloy to fix the bottom of the rad to the crossmember.

TBH the boost pipes hold the intercooler in place pretty well. Just to secure it a little more I used the plastic zip tie things used for fitting fans to rads passed through the intercooler and rad. I used a piece of rubber fuel hose to work as a spacer between the two.

To move the fan across I took the rad out and welded in little lips on the bottom to allow me to re use the existing fittings.

It fits lovely now and painted black it almost looks factory.

There is nothing the hold the cooler in place except the boost hose's! there should be 3 brackets though,1 for the top of the rad and 1 for the botom, then the other is to move the fan across and use the original fan mounts on the rad. You can buy the fitting kit from Pace but it's not to hard to make up some brackets yourself!
The cooler itself is not that much better than the standard item and if your running over 14 psi of boost is pretty useless!!

because up to 14 psi of boost they are only marginally better than the standard item! over 14 and they struggle to make any difference at all and you can expect ACT's of over 60 degrees!!
As said by Carl above ,they are known as Pace interwarmers!
