Default Starting and Idle problem.

It started the other day i came to start it up and it did so fine, i went to move off put a few revs on then when i let off the idle went right down and it stalled, then it wouldnt even try to start starter motor is turning but no sign of the engine kicking in. I left it over night came to it next morning and it started fine but same thing when a few revs go on it wont idle then. Its really getting on my nerves now, it must be working otherwise it wouldnt start first time, but what causes the revs to drop off once you put and revs on, and then wont start again? Tried again this morning let it warm up for a few mins and it runs ok. Can this be caused by overfueling as i know it is. Cheers for any help.

mine was doing the same.... it would start and cut out and if you didnt catch it on the throttle first time and keep the revs up it just wouldnt start at all. my problem was the fuel metering unit. i replaced this with one off a turbo i scrapped and new was running well. now mine is spot on every day. hope this helps

Hi try the engine coolant temp sensor its located under the inlet manifoil sounds to me engine starts from cold and soon as it heats up it dies just make sure the connections are not corroded and that the wires are ok if not bridge the connection with a wire it maybe a faulty sensor than try it!
