hi all, just recently bought a zvh engine which is supposed to be a 2.1,
is there anyway of proving this without stripping the engine as it looks
the same as the one i have in my cabby but i know that doesnt mean
its 100% a 2.1, also what pistons are normally used for a 2.1 conversion.

id say most piston used is the c20LET pistons from a cavalier/calibra turbo engine as they are 86mm/2045cc & the only way your going to know if its a 2.1 is if you remove the head to measure the cylinder

if its a zetec block from a mondeo the 3 Digit code maybe found on the cylinder block adjacent to oil pan rail (oil sump flange) on the exhaust side, or on rear flange of cylinder block adjacent to crankshaft position sensor.

if its a cvh block the 3 Digit engine code maybe found on one of two cylinder block lugs, to the left or right of exhaust manifold. Alternative locations are two pads, one on cylinder head between plugs 1&2, and one on rear face of block above clutch housing.

i thaught he ment whether its been bored out to a 2.1???

if its a zetec then the dipstick is at the front of the engine

Only way to tell exactly the cc is to strip all down and get it measured up
