hi i was driveveing my s2 erst last night and my cam belt snapped i dumped the clutch straight away ive been told to check the valves for damage is this a big job ? and how do i do it please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Takeing the head off a S2 is simple.

Guaranteed that you have bent valves as the cvh is prone for it if the belt snaps How fast were you going when it went??

 

99 out of a 100 times it will bend the valves and the belt usually snaps when you are at low speed and sometimes when your staionary!
you can put a new belt on and then do a compression test or just by starting it up you will know cos it will miss like a bitch!!
easy enough to do once you've got the head off though!

 

so you suggest putting a belt on it and see if it will run if not check the valves i was doing about 40mph going from 2nd to 3rd

 

If you put a belt on id turn it over by hand first to make shore you dont do anymore damage.
