Hi,

Anyone got any recomendations for a brake upgrade?I allready have cross drilled/grooved ones but fancy something bigger.
Not particular about wanting to keep standard calipers though.

What size are St170 discs? Can you buy 4Pots for an RS Turbo?

Same for rears, any help would be appriciated guys

Anythings possible - depends on how much dosh you wanna spend.

The cheapest option is the cossie disc conversion is Ł145, 283mm and fits under standard wheels BUT retains original calliper!

Think ppl have had the st170 brakes done for Ł300 to Ł400, I know these are bigger but not sure if they keep the same callipers, and doubt they fit under 15s.

4WD has a slightly smaller diameter and I think (but don't know for sure) a different offset as well...........

Just got a pair of Focus ST170 calipers for my car...still waiting for the arrival of the 17" rims and discs before i fit them...

apparently they are meant to be a bit more responsive than the Cossie setup but again i have no first hand experience of this to date...will let u know how i get on next week hopefully!

As for the back...im going for a Escort Cossie rear braking setup...should be much more than upto the job also gona be using a bias valve which is a MUST!...the only reason for me changing to the discs setup on the rear is coz im getting them for free otherwise i would have stuck with drums at the back

bassboy

P.S another bit of advice...if u are gonna go for the Cossie or ST170 route...then stick with original pads and discs...they are gona be the best!...although some people may have different views of which pads to go for...IMO standard is best...

Are the Cossie discs you buy from MadForIt Cross drilled/Grooved?
They are drilled mate... this is the conversion on mine (on mad for it's roller) - You can't make the drilled hole out - cos the wheels/discs are going around at time of photo

BTW Would agree on having standard pads - the race spec/uprated ones need the car to be driven hard ALL the time - as they have to be hot to work well.

Just ask for the RST to cossie disc conversion - check www.mad-for-it.com (although i think they've updated the website and much of it is still in under construction).

9-5, No - Colin doesn't get out of bed till 9:30am - Lucky git eh - LOL
Opening times are 10am til 6pm Monday to Saturday.
