Just unbolt the top of the shock, then the arm will drop down enough to get the spring out/in.

as long as you've not got a rear anti-roll bar as this stops it droping far enough to get the spring out.

rang my mate who owns my old red mk4, as i want the rear springs back off that. but hes saying that i need to unbolt the top and bottom of the strut and lower the rear arm...

ive said what "christian & beccy" said but hes just saying no no no...and saying that above agen about lowering the rear arm.

said yer it would be ok to do that to take out lowering springs but as standard springs are so long that they wont come out by just doing that.

can anyone help me asap

little more detail this time as im confused with people on here and my mate

cheers

as Christian said above!
just undo the nut on the top of the shock, then use a long bar to push the arm down far enough to get the spring out!
i changed to Cobra spring's recently and this is exactly how i did it!!

I can see bonus's point - if the are 1.1 pop plus springs, then u may have a problem.

Is there a rear roll bar fitted?
