Default A knock from nearside... Could it be a bush???

On my Escort RST. Its got Spax adjustables, the noise seems to happen when going over say 'bumpy ground' but not over speed bumps. Its like a mettalic type of sound, perhaps metal on metal, not really a thud (sorry if this doesn't make sense)

any info would be

Virtully impossible to say without hearing it.

It may be worth getting underneath it and checking all suspension/steering bolts are tight for a start, also check the ball joints and track rods for play.

Is it from the front or rear?

its the front offside. I thought that might be the case regarding diagnosis without hearing it... I'll have to have a look coz its doing my head in!
