Recently sometimes when i start my car the petrol gauge goes all the way to the top and stays there until i turn the car off. Then other times its fine and works normally. Just wondering if any one new why this would be and how to fix it!?

It's maybe a short circuit somwhere.(between the gauge and the sender)
Take a look at the cables under the backseat.
