i want some mk4 rear popouts on my mk4 popular

which ones will fit? been told the series 1s will...dont the series 2s have them?

how do they fit in if i aint have them in originally?

how much would they be for a set?

aint they all tinted or can you ge them clear as i have now?

IIRC, all fixing points are in place, just have to cut the plastic cover trims(marked out on the back of trims)

Not sure on clear glass, I have the S2 German/Spanish spec Green tints, & the S1' are all Bronze tint, hardest thing I found was sourcing decent window rubbers

yeah you can do and the s2 didnt have rear opening windows in them ive got both types of tinted window

Both spot on.
The fixing holes are already there, just need the plastic cover trimming for the 'closer'.
No S2 cars came with opening 1/4s.
If ever you need some new screw covers (outside ones) then the Ka and Fiesta items fit nicely as the S1 items are nla.

you can get clear glass and i'm not sure all cars came with the holes for the rear mounting point for the opener as it fits inside the c pillar and I'm sure some s2 came with opening rear quarters as optional extras

Definately NOT a Ford optional extra..altho I have heard before some foreign owners stating their car came with them new.

According to the S2 brochure the optional extras were:

Heated electrical door mirrors
Black/ metallic paint
Rapid clear windscreen
Custom Pack (elect windows, central locking, tilt/slide sunroof)
Fue lComputer
Recaro Seats
Stereo gear changes.

yes you are correct in this country anyway there was no s2 built att all with rear opening back quarter windows

Just to clear that up:

German mk4's never came with pop out windows, it wasn't even an option as far as I remember.

However most Italian and Spanish models had them fitted as standard.

I'm pretty sure they were all nailed together at Saarlouis. You can tell by your VIN, though.

G = Germany ("B" would be Britain)

C = Saarlouis OR Langley (if the previous letter is G for Germany it'll obiously be Saarlouis)

as with most fords there are exceptions there were some s2 with opening rear quarters in green just like there were some early mk3 escort that came with green tint glass

ive got a spare set of glass fixings and hinges i might be willing to part with!
Got no rubbers though,i just kept my ears open on ebay for some and they turned up within a few weeks!

Also you can get green glass from Auto glass etc bout Ł18 a side! Also mounting fixings on KA are the same but the opening hinge has to come from S1!
