there are some pictures somewhere, but basically it needs machining down to be as narrow as possible. If you look where the belt runs, it has a thin lip on one side, and a much thicker lip plus some more meat on the other side. This side needs to be made as narrow as the lip on the other side.

You need thease parts plus the sierra alternator

You need to machine it down like this.

You need to grind that lug flush

Cut the cps sensor holder like this

Fit like this

I took my standard rs alternator belt to my local motor factors and got the same size but the groved belt type and it fiitted perfect

Very old thread I know but was considering Sierra pulley setup for my EFI conversion as it had been offered to me, but how the fuck you do fit that with the engine in place??? Can it be dropped down enough? Or is it easier for me to stick with something like this?

I did it differently

You could remove you bottom pulley from your RST, measure up the diameter of your trigger disc then get a 10-15mm depth ring welded onto the RST pulley. The trigger disc will then fit onto the pulley and be fully adjustable - all you will need to do is have a couple of grub screws in place to lock the trigger in place when it is set.

Last but not least I used the crank sensor bracket from the sierra and bolted it on where the lower cam cover is bolted, this did need some fettling to make fit but it means you dont have to change the alternator, alternator belt and bracket - the sierra ones are rare as fuck I had a right game getting hold of the bits so decided to go this way.

It is a right ball ache to fit the sierra pulley but take the left hand side of the engine mount off, drop the engine as low as possible and it will eventually come off. This was another reason I used the original RST pulley as it is a lot thinner and clears the wing by around 15mm still.

Why do you need a sierra alternator bracket and alternator? Dont the original bracket and alternator with the Sierra alternator puley and Sierra crank pulley line up??
