As the person who started this thread I would like to clarify that I did it for my own reasons which are basically to help another who obviously does the same for others. SafeChav obviously contributes a great deal to the forum and I felt sorry for the poor bloke as having had similar done to my car in the past I understand how he must feel
I think its importantant in life that people get treated how they deserve and SafeChav has taught me many things and been helpful, why can this not be returned in any manner I choose.
The knowledge SafeChav has is something which has taken time to obtain and something he uses to help other people. I would like the opportunity to personally say thank you for this... its not charity, its not pity, its respect.
Do you stop your friend from buying you a drink in the pub based on the same principal ?

I work hard for my money and if I choose to use it to help another damn human being who does not spend his time on the forum being a pompous and judgemental individual like yourself rather than piss it up down the pub who the hell are you to state that this is wrong, or that the person I wish to help is as bad as me.. its not even effecting you

I get great satisfaction from knowing that there are nice people about sympatetic of others misfortune, willing to help and I feel the fact that you appear not willing to help others, but attack those who do says a great deal about you

Look here you gimp.

I spend a LOT of time working for a well known charity of which my grandmother is a board member. I also spent several months off work recently caring for a sick relative, so don't give me all that "you don't care about others" bullshit.

The bottom line is that this post says nothing about me and EVERYTHING about you and this other little prick.

1. You put him in a position where it's difficult to refuse.

2. Why would he accept hand outs? The fact that he's going to says everything about you and him. Don't you work?

If you can't accept that bad things happen to good people then you're not going to get very far in life. If you're waiting for someone to hand you cash everytime something goes against you, you're going to be stuck at the bottom for a very long time.

I have no issue with people helping out with time and parts, but if you're so keen to give your money away, give it to a charity and those IN NEED.

Why would there be any need to give away your money to someone because they've had a misfortune with their car? It's hardly like the guy got in a car accident and you're donating money towards his medical bills...... which would be worthy of charity.

I feel sorry for anyone who has their car damaged, but such is life. Get over it. I had some damage to my car occur once and guess what? I got it fixed off my own back, and not on the back of some charity donation.

Are you not ashamed of yourself to actually be considering accepting cash handouts to help fix your car? Have you not got any pride?

Well, If a mate broke his leg and you and the other mates would consider raising money to buy him - well - a case of beer or anything because you really like the guy... Would that be bad?

And if it's complicated to send beer by email would it be bad to drop him a few quid instead?

I know Rich, and he not.

And he just speaking his mind, he not giving it the biggun as its the net, TBH YOU have been more of a warrior on here than him. And by that I mean personal insults and shit you wouldnt say to him in real life (Bennis a goodun for that too...).

And I tend to agree, this threads a bit of a joke.

I help people on here, loads of us do, ive had loads of shit damaged and stolen in the past, but fuck all this charity case bollocks for such a pathetic reason.

Not as if someones house has burnt down and we chipping in to get him somewhere to live.

Not as if someones ruined your only means of transport.

Someones cars been damaged a bit, its not even immobile.

Stavros thats fair enough but it also looks like you need to go back to the first post and read who started it and what they said.

I didn't start it.............i haven't shown any signs of wanting to accept peoples generous offers, likewise neither have i posted up any adresses/paypal details to send money to..............

so why the fuck is everyone on my case?????????????????

a simple "sorry" would suffice

No I'm not. I get on fine with nearly everyone on this forum having a laugh and a joke and it's very rare you will see my in a argument. If you called me a cripple in real life like you did on hear I would of had just as much to say as I did on here.

I never said you started the post, but when I criticised Rudey for doing so, I got shot down in flames.

If it was me, I'd have said thank you for the sentiment, and simply asked people not to be so ridiculous.

I am a generous individual who appreciates many things in life and contribute greatly towards my family and a registered charity, not only do I give up my TIME for these very worthy causes but I also give a great deal of MONEY.
I work exceptionally hard and earn good money however I choose to live a lifestyle which allows me to assist decent people who have helped me, if I so choose to do so.
I do not drink socially, I do not smoke, I do not have a mortgage any more, I obtain enjoyment from learning and SafeChav has taught me things and I wish to say thanks, nothing more its that simple

unfortunately I do not have a garage full of parts I am able to donate however why should this prevent me from helping ?
If postage on parts being offered is needed I am willing to help in this area

I unfortunately misunderstand many things and still am unaware of why these offers of assistance personally effect you so much, perhaps im an idealist, a dreamer, a nice guy, a mug... perhaps even a gimp or a prick im not really certain. I do hope however that my attempt to just assist another person who has made a difference to me and lack of name calling says a great deal about me as a person

Its also worth pointing out that at no time has SafeChav supported this idea and neither has he provided me with any method to provide assistance which is his right and choice.

Did I miss something, are we killing kittens in this thread

this is stupid, it was generous sentiment mean't to try and cheer someone up- nobody has to give money thats rubbish its just a way of helping out a guy who spends alot of time on here helping others.
IMO thats not stupid or ridiculous and if you think it is why can't ya just ignore it and mind ur own business

Has a paypal address been supplied to anyone to accept donations? Or any other means of payment?

UnseenMenace, i think it's a nice gesture, but a gesture many, many people would be appreciative of.

When martin nearly killed himself in the gumball, no-one offered to donate cash to help with the re-build, fair enough, he may be in a much better financial position, but still.

If of course, anyone did help martin financially, then the above is null and void, just making a point.

Then i don't see the issue. Leave them to it.

This thread has had plenty of exposure, those that wish to donate can do so, and even remain anonymous if so.

End of IMO.

Good luck SaveChav.

I'm told he's a real decent person in real life. Nothing compared to the way he is on the internet.
Sounds like the biggest twat going from what he said to me.......

probably too much a wimp in real life to be that rude!
I know Rich, and he not.

And he just speaking his mind, he not giving it the biggun as its the net, TBH YOU have been more of a warrior on here than him. And by that I mean personal insults and shit you wouldnt say to him in real life (Bennis a goodun for that too...).
No I'm not. I get on fine with nearly everyone on this forum having a laugh and a joke and it's very rare you will see my in a argument. If you called me a cripple in real life like you did on hear I would of had just as much to say as I did on here.

Benni.
But if i recall correctly, you started that, the name calling to you was a retaliation to something you said to me, as unfortunatly i can only reply with words on the net rather than actions.
Which is why the net has a lot more mouthy people than the real world.
