Default I HATE CARS

Recently fitted a brand new fuel pump from autospecialists (not bosch...didnt realise till it arrived! but looks identical!)
Anyway, reason for a new pump was because the old one was drawing current and heating up the positive feed wire to the pump, and that im told means the pump is having to draw more current as its working harder as its fubar!
NOW
Fitted the new pump, and it was still heating up the wire...but gradually its been heating it up more and more until today its burning hot on a short drive, plus the pump sounds like a bag of spanners...
I thought maybe the fuel filter was blocked, so put a new one on, still doing it...could a fuel line be blocked as it sounds like its sturggling to pump..after fitting the new fuel filter it would need to fill that up as it primes, it sounded like a normal pump till the filter filled up with fuel then once it built pressure it sounded like the bag of spanners mentioned before? (I have the fuel relay bridged atm as ive not got a relay) oh car runs but has developed a miss fire, maybe its run lean and fucked my 300 mile old NKG plugs as I hear they have to have a near perfect air/fuel mixture or they break?

im at my witts end, Im not rich enough to keep buying new parts and guessing

As above , what voltage is there mate ? mines was really low on idle around 9.2volts this is my cossie mind , but had electrical problems in the past , sooo redone batt connections and put 3 new earth points around engine bay and it went up to 10.8 volts , still not happy with it though , going to rewire it soon with onwn live feed via relay etc , who knows what it goes to on boost

hm, i do believe it is the volt that is wrong, as u said the pump is brand new!
how does the fuel come out true the fuel filter then? just take of the fuel line from the filter to the meter head, and see if it comes with or without air

as mention'd,

check all fuel lines, and pickup pipe in tank. even tho its sorted itself, chances it will happen again,

and even the miss fire might be because of lack of flow/pressure.

Dont get them, they are not very good at all.

Get a set of 8mm leads from your motor factor's, about £20 and alot better.

i tried motorsport one on my TT, kept getting shocks, and slight miss fire, so put my motor factor items back on. (had them for 40+k miles, and 5 years, and still like new.
