Clutch ratchet
Garage told me the top part of the ratchet on the clutch pedal has gone hence not been able to select gears on the new box. He said that Ford don't do them anymore. There are four colours he said. The two colours that would have done he said are'nt available anymore, but a black one would do and might still be available. All gobbledygook to me but does anyone know what i'm on about 
Can you still get them and where from, part number etc. Help pleeze

Sounds to me as if he,s on about the QUADRANT.They tend to wear the teeth .These teeth act as a ratchets with a peg on the clutch peddle.As your clutch wears the ratchet takes up the slack in the peddle.
As for colours i,ve only ever seen a BLACK one for the mk3/4..Iv,e changed to a WHITE mk5 quadrant on mine as i have a 4 paddle clutch.A bastard to change but you should be able to get hold of a mk3 one no problem.
