i'm in need of help. I may sound thick but how do i remove the spoiler from my 88 spec series 2? I have bought a 90 spec one and want to fit that but i cant seem to get my old one off. I have removed the 4 caps and 1 screw from each side ( the top ones) but the ones nearest the rear of the car are rusted and will not undo anyhow. I have also removed 1 8mm nut from the middle of the spoiler from inside the boot. I was going to cut the spoiler off but would rather remove it properly.

You need to drill RUSTY HEADS of the old srews to get the spoiler off.Once removed you need to do 2 things.

1.Remove the rest of the screw from the riv nut .

2.Put in a new riv nut slightly higher up as the 88+90 spec spoilers have different mounting points.

If you have not got a riv nut tool you can just put self tapping screws in.

'though old one may be bonded on as well as the fixings, so try a bit of fine fishing line will get it off

will the 90 spec spoiler fit on my boot lid ok?

As MGM said, the two furthest forward fixings are differant, but they can be self tapped, good idea to run a little sealant around the holes in the bootlid prior to bolting the spoiler down, help prevent any water ingress.
