Default help please

on my s2 escort there is a sensor missing on the themostat but ive notice ive got a yellow plug hanging down at the back of the engine does that need to go into the plug on the themostat.

also my cold start sensor isnt pluged in would there be a reason for this any help would be great please exuse my crap spelling

You sure you are talking about the thermostat? The thermostat is on the gearbox side of the head!

Got any pictures? If its the yellow plug im thinking of thats critical!

Yello plug will probably be the WATER TEMP SENSOR the one missing from the themostat can only be the FAN SWITCH which has a blue sensor and plug and who ever had the car before you probably unpluged the cold start to help it start in the cold

the only reason i notice was because its leaking water by the sensor then i notice the yellow plug
