hi i havent looked yet but can any1 tell me how a s1 sunroof comes out so i have a few pointers before i start thanks in advance

ok number one protect you roof at least 3 layers of masking tape on the front lip of the sunroof aperature and all the way to the windscreen and about 2" either side of teh sunroof aperature.

next wind teh sunroof open undo all the screws that are visable and the inderia winder undo teh screw that hold the handle on, pull it off they are usually tight then put it back on and wind the sunroof to the closed postion, do this careully as the front plastic part of the sunroof frame tends to lift.you may need to put a couple of the screws back in till its nearly closed then take them out.

then just push from inside the car and push teh sunroof up and onto the masking taped up roof the interia handel should just pull off easily as you will have already removed it, the sunroof should slide out towards the front of teh car easily. get another pair of hands if you wish but if you have protected the roof propely you wont need a hand.

replacement is the opposite of removal

a s2 sunroof will fit but needs cutting down slightly and a few extra holes need drilling just place the s2 sunoof back to back with the s1 sunroof.

ive got a s2 sunroof in my s1, wish id done it years ago.
