I think while the winters with us im gonna take the RS off the road to rebuild the engine. Im lookin to maybe change the pistons, stronger conrods, lighten and balance the bottom end, new sump gaskets, new head gasket, new exhaust gaskets and possibly port and polish the head. The car is chipped and has a piper 285t cam which will go back in if its ok, im gonna get a stg 2 hybrid turbo aswell as pace intercooler. Im aiming to get 200+BHP from this, will i get that ? Im no mechanic so im gonna have to pay someone to do this............So can anyone give me advice on what to do and what not to do please.

Std engine is fine for 200 bhp, rods are fine to 230-240 bhp, pistons are ok to 260+bhp.

just make sure you use a Ford rst headgasket, and ARP bottom rod bolts.

As Fiecos Dan say's standard engine will take 200 bhp if the one you got in there is healthy why take it out and rebuild it as for the intercooler get a GRS front mount one not one of them small pace ones

Cheers Lads didnt think a std engine would take 200 BHP, thats why i was going to take it out and get it rebuilt as i want around the 200 BHP mark. What psi can you run on a std engine safely as my last rs spat the piston and con rod near the gearbox side out the front of the block I dont want to do this again as the shells in really good condition
