Tried to bleed up the back brakes on my friends 1990 H plate S2 Escort RS Turbo and we are struggling to get any fluid through the bleed nipples on the rear drums, even with the nipples wound right out, are there any commen faults or suggestions on what can be the problem? We were thinking along the lines or rear slave cylinders, load compresating valve or maybe a blockage in the brake lines. The car is awfull to drive at the moment, next to no peddle braking, only handbrake works.
Thanks for any and all help

the car MUST be on its wheels if not the rear comp valves will not open thats why no fluid
one other thing has it a rear disc set up ??? if so make sure the bleed nipple is at the top of the calipar might sound daft but my old S2 had rear discs and the muppet that fitted them put the calipars on but with the nips facing down
