Default arch rolling

this goes out to all you panel beaters out there. I'm in the middle of putting rs 7 spokes (diamond polished ones) on to my baby but have noticed that they are very wide. my cousin is a machine shop worker so is going to re grind the discs all round to pull the wheels in 3mm but i still need to get the rear arch lip out the way and was wondering which way is best. do you just cut lines in the arch lip from the inside towards the wing then fold the segments up behind the wing then re treat to stop rusting. any help most appreciated i thank you in advance.

Take it some where and have it done there is a proper tool that mounts to your drum which has a roller on it and you gradualy roll the lip back.A local tyre & exhaust place by me has one. If you cut the lip and hammer it back you could bend the arch where its visable.

Where i work they generally use a panel hammer and rubber dolly.

A rubber dolly wont mark the paint where as a metal one obviously would.

Start at one bottom corner of the arch, holding the dolly against the outside and slowly and gently start tapping the lip upwards. Dont tap it completely flat straight away instead tap it say 25% of the way up for about six inches then go back to the start and tap it another 25% for three inches, then go back to continue tapping another six inches 25% and so on.

Do this gradually and you should have no problems.
