Possible starter motor fault
Today iv checked my electrics on my car by connecting the battery up for the first time since my rebuild. I have not yet put the turbo, rad intercooler, ignition leads and various pipes on yet but every thing works perfectly apart from the starter motor. When i turn the ignition on it clicks and then everyting turns itself off. You have to wait a minute or so with the ignition off then everything comes back to life I dont think its the battery as its been on charge for a while now and has been used to jump start another veicle this week. I havnt investigated why its doing it but anyone who may have a sugestion please leave a message as ill have i look tomorrow.

earth wire?
if the cable from the starter to your battery is getting hot , your starter is poked(check the brass bush on the front of the starter , they sometimes get pushed out and cause the rotor to short on the stator)
check battery voltage , batteries that stand for long periods tend to die suddenly as the have a dead cell
