GRS intercooler fits quite nicely and is as big as it gets. Here's a picture of my Orion:

Default S1 intercooler

There is a number of options really.

As above, you could fit the large GRS intercooler.

There is also a guy on here who has fitted a cosworth 4x4 intercooler behind the grill with a custom made rad (probably looking a Ł400.00 all in. Can't remember his name "mind has gone blank")

Other people have fitted a cosworth 2wd intercooler again behind the grill and tilting the standard rad back to providethe extra space required, similar to what Karl does on his twin cos intercoolers.

The choice is yours.....

I have just got hold of a charge cooler for mine as not to disturb the engine cooling, before you all say they are crap i have a larger rad for the charge cooler with its own fan and it works for me.
Im considering a water spray also you never know

i had a pace charge cooler on my S2, i fitted an extra radiator to it and it was still shit, 75deg charge temp, for the money they are charging, you would expect something that works, go for the intercooler

ADSRST, Are they easy to fit on S1 though?
In this months 'fast ford' theres a big section at the back about intercoolers, theres a red 'series one' (well mk3 looker with turbo engine and everything) with a S2 pace intercooler fitted to it, does anyone know how difficult this is??

i dont think it would be hard to fit the small pace one but if you want lower charge temps and the standard look then the GRS one is the best for the job and graham (the bloke at GRS )will tell you and send you instructions when you call him, fitting it is well easy mate you cant go wrong
