hi guys, what does low compression pistons actually do? im a n00b at this. whats the advantages?

means you can run more boost generally(if you dont have a flash engine manament systems) with a lower risk of detonation i think
throttle response off boost suffers though

ive got the .5 mahle low comp pistons. i read sumwhere that they dont like to be redlined. is this true?

.5 relates to the piston being .5mm oversized.

Lowering the compression ratio increases the scope for additional ignition advance and or boost.

ran Mitsubishi Tredia/Vortex Turbo 1800 4g62b 80.5MM pistons for 5 years at a cr of 6 to 1 - ran 2 bar boost with a t34 on pump fuel without too much stress , donkey low down but strong past 3k

comp ratio of 6-1 thats a bit drastic ant it
