Default help needed - actuator

hi , im in the middle of fitting a new turbo to my zvh , i need to set the actuator up ,all i need to know is what position does the actuator have to be at ? does it hold the waste gate open or closed when resting ? ( dumb question i know i just never realy thought about it be4 now)

hi mate could u let us no ive got the same problem as u. altho im sure it is set with it closed then when the accuator builds up vacum it pushes that arm witch flips the waste gate open i think?

The actuator holds the wastegate closed at rest. You need to figure out whats open and whats closed, then hold the wastegate in the closed position and adjust the actuator until it is about 2-3 mm short of what is needed to connect it. Then pull the rod out to connect it to the wastegate, thereby placing the wastegate under pre-load.

Of course, check the boost carefully before using the car in anger.

Better that starting a new one i suppose. but as said you need preload on the actuator.
