noisy tappet sound

i still cannot work it out,the cylinder is ok checked everthing out on it and it is spot on. before i took the cylinder head off to rebuild my engine it was perfect now up to 2000 revs it makes a clicking sound,it sounds like it is only one clicking,when it goes past 2000 it goes and the engine sounds brilliant , what else do you think could make this sound because its so annoying,an when you rev it up standing still its perfect thats why i dont think its the tappets any ideas please

its like a lightish sound everthing on the cylinder head is spot on newmancam,solid lifters all checked for the right gaps,rockers ok,nuts tightened to the correct torque,well oiled and the rest,like i said it only comes in when i pull away as soon as i hit 2000 revs it clears

ive had a few mates with cars where is injectors that click/tixck/ same as my mondeo.other threads at the momenjt mention thinhs like little ball bearings at the end of cams and problems with the vernier pulley if(im assuming) you have one. maybe worth consulting one of them.
