Make sure the handbrake lever is returning properly and cables are free. If the arm is siezed you will need to free off. Might be worth slackening handbrake cable right off, remove calliper from mountings and using the wind in piston tool, wind the piston all the way back in. Then reassemble and pump the brake pedal out and rea djust handbrake.

as above, also advise remove pads and grease up where they mount, remember that when you jet wash your wheels your also jetwashing away any grease on you brakes..

The rear brakes do so little on a FWD car you will always have problems. You will just have to service them every 6 months and keep it all lubricated.

found mine binding although i'm using 4x4 discs and calipers but same principle. as advised already i took mine off today, found piston in and pumped it out a few times on each side then greased up the pad mountings. seems better

make sure that you wind the pistons fully in on both sides when your changing pads discs, this affects the releasing mech that causes the brakes to bind if you dont wind them home!

Granada/scorpio are only the same as 2WD COSWORTH and have solid discs. The 4WD COSWORTH have vented discs. If you have got 2WD CALIPERS then only solid discs will fit (THE SAME AS MINE)

Ok here's another question.

What handbrake cable do you guys use.

I've heard of Mk5 RS2000 one, but there are 2 types.

One with the handbrake in the discs(Mk5a) and the later ones with Granada/Sierra calipers on it, which(according to Ford) is the same as a RS2000 4x4 and Escort Cosworth.

I ordered this but but the outer cable is way too short. But the early type rear discs use a cable with a ball on the end instead of a hook.

I'm really stumped now
