Default speedo cable

hello

my speedo has stoped working and am looking to change the cable

but the problem im getting is taking the old one off , how does it come off

any help will be appreciated.

Do you mean off the back of the speedo? It's a knack!!! Get it nice and straight, then push it in and pull it off in one movement. That's what I do. Don't force it. It must be straight though, if the cable is bent where you have moved the dash out of the way, it won't disconnect.

yeah of the back of the speedo
il try what you said tomorow, spent ages trying to figure it out
what about the other end, it appears to just be a large nut
would it be a case of just undoing both end and fiiting the new cable

Yes, simple as that. Only tricky bit is getting it off the back of the speedo. Don't force it. It will come off, when you are being your most patient! If you get pissed off with it, go for a brew, then come back chilled and have another go!!

just a quick update

got the speedo working but now for some reason the abs light doesnt

come on (abs has been disconnected) when the handbrake is on, any sensors or anything that i should

check, had to happend now, i was planning to take the car for an mot next

week, ive been told as long as the abs light comes on when the handbrake is

on, it should pass.

any info ??

No, if the ABS is gone, its better for the light to be gone also. Alot of peeps just take the bulb out! You probably knocked the bulb or something. I wouldn't worry too much.
