doing my head in

Can get it in no problem, with it in the closed position. But the mechanism is slipping. before i took it out, it was very smooth. it's not corroded, and is well oiled. Its fine when going back and forward, but when u come to close it, or put it in the tilt position it slips, sometims opens, and sometimes just on one side.

What are the small metal things with the notch for? Either side, and they have markings which look like they line up with other markings. Looks like you can adjust them, but dont know how :S

i have the same problem with mine, gave up before i lost me rag with it again

i got it working perfectly out of the car, with everything oiled up working smoothly. All i needed to do was put two more scews in at the front and it clamped the mechanism down and stopped it slipping.

does require patience gus. i got proper fucked off the other night. came back calm, and was much better. also helps loads if someone else is with u, so u can hold it in place.
