Default No amal valve on my turbo?

Hi guys,

Ive had various posts with regard to my turbo shutting down when it hits 0.8 on the boost gauge. Its only a standard turbo, and after many people telling me the amal valve might be bust, Ive now realised it hasnt even got one. All it has is a bleed valve, which I wont even go near.

Has anyone else taken there amal valve off, and has anyone had similar problems with there boost. This car is far slower than when I bought it back in march, believe me, Im being laughed at by geeks in renault 5's!

Any suggestions what could have caused this drop in performance? Only thing wrong is a small blow in the exhaust on the front pipe, but thats being fixed thursday. Could it be this?

Any help much appreciated

If it's a standard unchipped car, then it's supposed to shut down if it hits ~0.7 bar of boost for more than 1-2 seconds. About the beed valve, there is nothing wrong with having one. I've tossed my Åmål a long time ago.

well mate as ur hitting 0.8bar id say its not chipped, it maybe ur over boost kicking in which cuts the boost out, i.e seems like ur car has lossed all power.
i would either
a) get your car chipped
b) get the over boost disabled.
c) turn the bleed valve in as far as you can go and adjust it until it stops cutting out.

get a 90 spec brain (holds 10 psi) and a -31 actuator, toss the bleed valve away and get a amal valve, put a longer pipe on the one that runs to the computer as it will take longer for the presure to hit the over boost cut off switch
