Evening Euan

I was well impressed with your car, the absolute bollox mate

The 1.6 is a cracking engine and loads of folk dont give em a chance but loot at the likes of christian and beccy's S2 300+ and still on the 1.6
And topping out at over 160 mph is very impressive, mines is out of puff around 130

Cheers for the comments mate

Ill post up when i get back from AVA on saturday, booked in for 11 o'clock if anybody's around

Night dudes

the fuelling the car has is the maximum for 230bhp, if you want more, then
you will have to change management, i.e cossie or fez efi

also, that engine will probably handle more power,

and for 2.0 litre, you will either have to go tall block or zvh i think

All that CVH needs is a big valve head and it will produce a lot more power. You can take it upto about 260/270ish bhp then.

If you want even more, drop the sump off and fit steel con rods.

Then it's restriction is the fuel systems and the turbo.

Going to a 2 litre seems a hell of a lot of work/cost just to gain a small amount of power that the engine thats already in the car will handle in it's stride with minor modifications. Bear in mind that the standard Zetec and the standard CVH rods are both on the limit at the same power output.

Afternoon guys

Just Back from AVA where the car made 155@wheels charge temp is waaaaaaay high and its overfuelling.

Whipped the dump valve off and bunged it up while we were at it and disconnected the 5th injector......flat spot gone!

Car pulls right the way with NO hesitations whatsoever.

But the over fuelling is really needing sorted as the car is suffering from it, otherwise its tip top absolutely spot on.

Im gonna post a request up for some techy help cos i want the I/C further forward and the fans mounted between there and the rad, just spent ages in the drive looking at how this can be done but i reckon ill need some kind of fabrication to get some mounts for the cooler.

Also andy i dont suppose you have the original airbox do you?

no it had a k&n on it when i got it, you need that 5th injector for 21 psi or it will melt

also, leave the dump valve on, 21 psi might goose ytour turbo

Evening dudes,

The tests today were done on low boost as they didnt see the point in going high untill the fuelling was sorted.

But AVA are making me a custom fuelling setup for it, didnt mean to get hardcore with it this quick but i couldnt help it

But when it goes back they reckon they will get the power right back up there without the boost as high which apparently from word of mouth they are very good at.

Andy the cars chilling out for the time being and kept off high boost, the 5th is going back on once the new fuel system is put in next month

Dave it was very fast last night and with 3 in as well, once i have my new bits ill have a fly with T28 if hes up for it

Ill keep you guys posted on the progress in this room as each stage is done over the next few months, fuck im gonna be skint

Check this out...

The new fuel system should sort that out and give it a hefty boot up the arse , to be honest im quite happy about that cos it saves me a job later on.

Remember the run was low boost though and the quoted figure is at the wheels so that should give us 175 - 180 at the fly.

So to be honest its not to be sniffed at in any way at all but the fuelling data was pretty scary when they ran me through it but i also think that the ACT data could be due to the ambient temperature in the workshop.

But i want to figure something more efficient out and if im going the full hog like its looking like i am then im doing it right

Well when it was on the rollers the guys at AVA didnt want to do i high boost run till the fuelling was sorted.

What im gonna do is run it with the 5th in comparison to without but i aint going on high untill ive had the new system put in

I just dont want to run the high boost till its sorted though id be in tears if something were to happen to it.

that explains why it was a bit lower than id have thought then as it was run on the low boost as it was overfueling on low boost would it maybe not have been ok on high boost
still does go well tho mate

Evening chaps

Right been working on the car since about 10 ish this morning, fixed all my leccy probs like the tail light anhd sidelights, the fuse blowing prob is now gone also.

Was a james hunt of a job but works pretty much spot on now and should be for the foreseeable future.

Also the window motor's wiring setup had plugs protruding from the door behind the drivers door card, a swift re wire has sorted that and the panel now sits flush with the door itself, fairly easy.

And i got my head and changer from my old gti6 in there now as well cos i was having probs getting that to work off the existing harness.

Euan id fooookin love a go in the "red shed"

Ive also managed to source a standard airbox for her as well but having some trouble getting a panel filter for it, was going for the K&N but if any of you guys know of better ones then im all ears

Jambo the high is at 21 psi but after the fuel systems done AVA reckon were going for more power but less boost approach if you know what i mean

was thinkin 18psi is a bit high for that power, know exactly what you mean mate with less boost, all these boost junkies think more boost equals more power, not always

The S1 will prolly feel as quick coz mine is very progressive, your more than welcome to have a passenger run to see how different the cars feel

It will be interesting to see what it makes once the problems have been sorted out

Would be nice to see it with 200@ the wheels as it has got alot of good bits on it just now

Evening dave,

Yeah id quite like that, ill actually speak this time instead of gazing inanely into your engine bay, i didnt get much chance to chat last time.

Also i had every intention of getting to the meet tonight but curcumstances really wouldnt let me

But once ive got myself booked back into AVA (as soon as ive got a standard airbox on) ill post the dates and then the outcome up on this thread and just edit the title to state what stage were at

Cheers

Pete
