ive heard mongoose is the best for big power....but to be fair it looks better cuz its small n luks tidier under the bumper. the magnex zorst has a massive box which proper sticks out n luks crap imo! (no offence if u have a magnex)

think your a bit confused mate, the tailpipe size is nothing to do with the bore size in the backbox
whether you got a 3"/3.5"/4" tailpipe the backbox is still the same
we're on about the reduction inside the backbox

From my experience, the best exhaust is a Magnex 2.5" Bore centre section with Flexi, and a Mongoose 2.5" Bore Rear Box. Keeps the manifold studs happy without sounding crap.

But If you're going to spend Ł350 on an exhaust for your RS, I'd get down to a QUALITY custom exhaust manufacturer, as for an extra Ł50 odd quid you can have it as loud/quiet as your like, and whatever bore you choose. And for gods sake, don't go to powerflow....

My Local expert are C+C Stainless Exhausts. For Ł400 they'd build a gorgeous 3" Bore stainless system with a 3" Bore Flexi and whatever size of box you want. Only takes them a day too. And they use proper steel, Powerflow use 409 grade, thats bloody rubbish. C+C use only 304 stainless. This is beginning to sound like I'm getting paid to plug them so I'm off

a reduction in tailpipe size can have a positive effect on torque.

The best off the shelf system IMO is the 3inch bore Magnex, with3.5 inch tailpipe. It's quieter than most systems, and being a 3inch bore, good for power.

My favourite zorst is the Power Engineering item in my Avatar. They are VERY VERY quiet at mway speeds - just what i like, but others dont. It burbles nice on idle, is incredibly well made, and looks the bollocks.
magnex dont make a 3.5 tailpipe only 3" and 4", and have recently had a 4" scorpion and the bore coming out of the silencer is ridiculously small when compared to the likes of mongoose and magnex as rick says just shine a torch down there and you will see!!! magnex and mongoose have a bigger bore size exiting from the rear silencer, so magnex or mongoose all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
