i dont know if this is a common problem on s2erst but my headlining is wet and the box the sunroof slides back into is rotting away

 

Headlinig? U mean rooflining? Rot and rust around the sunroof is a common area for escorts to go, as it is a place where water gets into and sits hence causing the rust and eventually rotting through. You will find most chuck out little scabs of surface rust when the sun roof is opened, although mine has not rotted, there was a fair bit of surface rust here and there but nothing major at all, I got the dyson out on it and sucked it all up! pmsl, so when in summer it wont all fall into the car!

 

i would check under your roofling mate cause thats how mine started ive owned two erst both with the same problem and both didnt seem to major at first
