Shortshifters
I keep thinking of getting a shortshift for my S2, but not sure on which one (more like, whats the difference ?)
I've seen theres the B&M and the Rally Design.
Is the £120 price difference worth it between the two ?
Also (for those who have either) is the length of the gearstick any shorter compared to the standard shifter ?
One more ... where sells the shifters ? I think Power Engineering does the B&M for £170 ish inc. del.

The Rally Design is a modification of the original item. This moves the pivot point making the throw shorter. The actual gearstick is not shorter tho, it just alters that pivot. It does require some modifying of your asembly, so if you are not competent to do it, then you'll have ot add that money on top of the costs.
I had one on my S2 and never had a problem with it. Made the throw a lot shorter and seemed very precise gear change-wise. I recommend these, but i've never had a B&M to compare it to.
Peole who own B&M's will say they are better. Again, i cannot comment onthis, but I've not heard anything bad about them. I'm sure Christian or Tony will be on soon to give their thoughts swaying toward the B&M unit as this is what they use.

I wouldn't take my B&M out, its fantastic. Transformed the gearchange from being Porridge-like to something that is far more positive and purposeful.
I have driven cars with the other conversion and they don't compare, not even close.
As Gary said, we can supply, see the post in the Traders section......
