Default best way...to clean calipers

ive just got sum 2wd cossie calipers to convert my RST ,but whats the best way to clean them up?cus they're pretty rusty?

im guessin gettin em shot blasted aint a good idea!!!what fluid shud i use?isit the end of the world if sum fluid gets inside em?They arent goin to be fitted for a few weeeks or so!

i usually use a wire wool attachment on the ond of a drill mate for the outside of them always does the trick. they are only a few pound. dont try do inside of them with it though where the pistons are cause of the rubber seals

I'd use a wire brush. Get the rust off and then use a hammerite primer followed by a hammerite gold colour. Did this on mine and they look spot on

I just tape up the bleed nipple and sand blast mine with the piston pushed fully home. Never had a problem yet

il give the wire attatchment in a drill a go .il just be careful around the pistons!methylated spirit is ok to use 2,isnt it?

push the pistons in first,tape up the seal area,to stop dirt ingress,and mind the bleed nipple,failing that i have numbers of people who sale and return,reconditioned ones,like new with or without paint on em,garenteed too,but not neccesaraly cheap mind!

just ask and ill pop em up.
